As promised, here are some of the highlights of what I did in this month:
경복궁 (Gyeongbok Palace) at night
Gyeongbok Palace is one of the major places to visit in Seoul to see beautiful, historical buildings. Only twice a year (in the spring and fall), it is open at night for visitors to see a spectacular night view of the palace. This fall, the palace was open at night from Oct. 1-7. I couldn't miss this perfect opportunity to see the palace at night! Although it was certainly breathtaking at night, I definitely want to go back again during the day to explore the entire palace and to see it in clear detail.
Seoul International Fireworks Festival
On October 6, the Seoul International Fireworks Festival was held at the Yeouido Hangang Park (여의도한강공원). The fireworks show consisted of fireworks displays created by professional teams from four countries: Italy, China, United States, and Korea. I will never forget the feeling of sitting by the Han river alongside thousands of other people looking up and enjoying the fireworks up close.
Alright, this post is getting too long so I will have part 2 in the next one! :)
